The project for Data Analysis was assigned to my classmates and me and I decided to create a dashboard on Box-Office Trends and analysis.
With the use of this project I wanted to display how many movies were released throughout the years, how movie ratings affect it's performance on the box-office and also show Highest Rated and Grossing movie of all time.
The dataset used in this project was downloaded from Kaggle in csv format and later converted to xlsx file in order to perform data analysis operations on it to generate insight.
Data Analysis steps were as follows:
1. Data Collection: To work on a data you need to have the data which can be achieved through numerous options such as forms, surveys, polls, etc. Here I downloaded a pre-made dataset from Kaggle.
2. Data Cleaning: Before jumping on to generating insights , data cleaning is important. Without cleaning the data the analyst may generate faulty results. In this project I added columns which were necessary for Data Analysis.
3. Data Analysis: This is the part where analyst generate summaries of the dataset to increase understandability of the data. With this project I used Pivot Tables to summarize the data.
4. Data Visualisation: After summarizing data information through Pivot Tables I used Pivot Charts to develop the summary in Visual form. I used Line Charts, Column Graphs and Pie charts to display the information.
5. Dashboard: At last all of the Data Visualisation were put on a single page which will help convey the data findings to others easily.
With this , the Project was successfully concluded.
